Picture Window Features and Benefits
Picture windows are fixed, inoperable, windows that seem to open up a room and create a portrait-like space on walls. This window variety is stationary and manufactured in different shapes, sizes and grid patterns. The main purpose is to let in the maximum amount of light and create views of the outdoors.
Although picture windows seem pretty simple and one-dimensional, they have flexibility of design by accommodating any opening size and serve various purposes.
They are usually installed in hard to reach places, such as near the ceiling lines or above operable windows to let in natural light.
It is also very common to find picture windows installed in areas with unobstructed views where ventilation is not a primary concern, or in areas of a room that are susceptible to drafts in order to let in the natural light without any of the cold air.
